Football

U15A

An excellent final victory for the U15A away at Cedars. A Josh H hat trick was the highlight, thought the Jack G goal line clearance almost stole the glory. The 3-1 win saw both players awarded PoM in a fine team display. Well done to all those boys that have represented the squad this season.

U15B

The final game of the season saw the U15B travel to Bromley to play The Cedar School. The boys battled hard and were rewarded by a wonder goal from Alfie that left the keeper standing still.

Shortly after from a long kick Cedars nudged the ball past Felix in goal. A strong second half from the host saw them go 2-1 up, a lead they held until the end. Man of the match was Ash for a solid defensive performance

U14A

A comprehensive 6-1 victory for the U14A squad closed out the season in style. A stunning Ollie W volley was the undoubted top (corner) of the bill, but it was the team work and enjoyment that stood out as a memory. Well done to all involved this year.

U14B

A 9-0 victory was a per3ct way to sign off the season, the strong performance from the team led by PoM James C.

U13A

Arriving with only a few minutes to warm up, the boys started extremely well. Cedars traditionally have some good strong players and this team was no different. However, our boys have learnt a lot in recent weeks and they passed and moved well, letting the ball do the work rather than them. The first half was relatively even, but goals from HB and EH gave Claremont breathing space and these two boys conditioned to link up extremely well through the game,

The second half began with another EH goal and this was the moment that Cedars resistance folded. From then on it was a procession with Claremont launching attack after attack and the goals were then shared around between the boys. It was a nice way to end a season and allowed the boys to show off how much they have learnt and get to see how successful they can be when they show composure and make good decision,

U13B

A 10-0 win. Tom G-S slotted two goals in the first two minutes. From that point the result was never in doubt. Relentless Claremont pressure led to the team being five goals up at half time. A buoyant Claremont took to the pitch in the second half. Milo and Barnaby finally had their chance up front. Neither scored. Aneel was put at right back. Showing a complete disregard for his position, he slotted a tap in at the far post. Artimus was on fire scoring 3 goals, a great end to the season for one of the most improved players on the team. Freddie FO led the team demonstrating leadership with his consistent performances week in week out. The progress that this group of players have shown this season has been huge. Pushed off the ball in the first game of the season to dominating games at the end of it. As a group that have all worked together and supported each other. Well done.

U12B

A 3-1 victory at home against Cedars, neatly rounded off the U12B season. Captain Will L scored a great second goal, holding off several would be tacklers, with the final strike from outside the box, too strong for the keeper to manage. Well done team.

Lacrosse

Congratulations to Nala E, Anna O, Olivia M and Lola C who were all selected to represent Southeast at the super counties’ tournament. All teams were victorious on the day coming out 1st in their respective tournaments. A fantastic achievement, well done!

Rugby Sevens

U13 @ Rosslyn Park National 7s

A superb day for the Under 13 Rugby Sevens squad, saw the team rewarded with four wins from their five matches to end their maiden Rosslyn Park National 7s in second place in a highly competitive pool.

Colfes and Salesian were narrowly defeated, before a more comfortable victory over Loughborough Grammar School. To underscore the pedigree of the pool, having previously lost every match, Kingsdale Foundation proved the toughest opposition to date, Claremont emerging victorious (at least by the referee’s submitted scoreline…). With legs cramping and

injuries hampering the effort over five hours after the opening match, the final game against unbeaten Newbridge did prove a sidestep too far, though even in defeat, the boys put up a gallant fight.

Claremont can be very proud of their part in this world-famous tournament. Over 10,000 children took part across the week, over 600 matches were played. It is without doubt, the best schools’ tournament in world rugby. For our boys to have played so well is a credit to their resolve.

Tries from Roshi, Will C, Archie, Elijah, Rupert and Hugo led the way, with Jack composed at first receiver, Harry buzzing around the pitch before injury, Tom and Zain tackling and harrying the opposition and Adrianos a diminutive wrecking ball, one cover tackle in particular a dynamic highlight. Above all strode Jay, strong, determined and direct in a series of powerful performances. Congratulations boys, you should all be very proud of yourselves.
