In 2022, our students achieved truly outstanding results. Headmaster, William Brierly, commented, ‘Our sixth form students have achieved these remarkable grades through their excellent work ethic and commitment – we are so proud of them – their results are record breaking by some margin.’
Student stories
Matthew
“One highlight over the past few years have been the physics lessons. We’ve been really involved…I think that in Claremont lessons are always really enjoyable, not only do you learn something, but you also get a fond memory out of it as well… In maths we had flexible lessons for three weeks where you’d put your name down for all the things you wanted to do and they’d slot you into all these dedicated classes so that you’d get a specialised lesson about what you wanted to revise which was really great.”
Matthew’s outstanding straight A* results in physics, maths and computer science have landed him a fantastic opportunity to do a two-year software engineering apprenticeship at Meta in London. After receiving an offer to study computer science at The University of Birmingham, he discovered the company Multiverse who are an apprenticeship provider. They helped him discuss other options for his future other than university. He would like to thank Miss Jackson, Mr Ridings, Mrs Taylor, Mrs Honnor and Miss Waters for getting him through his A levels and getting him his great results.
Alessia
“Sixth form has been the best years of my life so far. The teachers have helped with everything. The classes are small which is why I believe if I didn’t have the support here, I wouldn’t have been able to achieve my grades that I have today. Equally, if I hadn’t had got the grades, I know that I would have had a safety net of Mrs Knight and everyone to help me.”
Alessia got her first choice of university which is Durham, where she will be studying sociology. After receiving amazing results of AAA, Alessia would like to personally thank Mr Jones, Mrs Robinson, Mrs Barry, Miss Coombs, Miss Rose, Mrs Smith, Mrs Knight and Mrs Wells for their support. She assures them that she will be coming back to visit them again soon!
“Claremont for Aaron has been absolutely brilliant. From Year 7 to Year 13 he has had an amazing time, met wonderful people and the teachers have been inspiring. We couldn’t have asked for more. He has been in an environment where Claremont nurtures and supports the children…he has got everything he wants, which is brilliant because the school has helped him do that.”

Rami
“The sixth form centre was a highlight for me, the community being so close was amazing. I can’t thank this place enough, I loved it here so much”
Rami is over the moon with his three As in biology, chemistry and maths. He is taking a gap year and intends to apply to study medicine.
Lily
“I had a whole support bubble and support system, whenever you feel like you’re struggling, you’ve always got somewhere to go for help. That is what helped me get my three A’s because I had those facilities to help me when I needed them.”
The three A’s that Lily received has helped her reach her goal of going to Reading University to study real estate. She loved all her A level subjects which were design and technology, geography and politics, but DT was her favourite because of her brilliant teacher Mr Gladstone.
Panos
“There was incredible support from the teachers. Mrs Wells was definitely one highlight of sixth form.”
Many congratulations to Panos for getting into his first choice of university which was York. He is off to study sociology after doing economics, modern Greek and politics A level. He would like to thank Mr Rocca and Mrs Smith for helping him get his A*, B, C grades.
