We understand that choosing the right setting for your child can be a daunting process, especially at the start of their school journey. Our friendly and knowledgeable admissions team are on hand to guide you every step of the way.
As a school, which places children at the centre of our thinking, we aim to offer an admissions process which helps you and your child to feel confident that you have found your best fit school. We hope to do this by inviting you to come to visit our school to see behind the scenes and our classrooms in action, likewise, we hope to get to know your child as part of our considered admissions approach.
Children already in our nursery automatically move into our reception giving them continuity of learning supported by out exceptional team.
Mrs Joanna Worsfold is your point of contact for admissions into our Pre-Nursery and Nursery and she is available to answer your initial enquiries at admissions@claremont.surrey.sch.uk or on 01372 473621. Alternatively, you can fill in an initial enquiry form by clicking here.
Pre-nursery timings: Children join in the September after their second birthday and attend a minimum of two morning sessions per week. We recommend you visit and apply early in the autumn of the year before they are due to join, though you are very welcome to come to see us for an open morning earlier if you wish.
Nursery timings: Children join in the September following their third birthday attending a minimum of five mornings per week. This increases to a minimum of three mornings and two full days per week in the summer term before they enter reception. We recommend you visit and apply early in the autumn term of the year before they are due to join, though you are very welcome to come to see us earlier.
Our simple four-step process for admissions is as follows:
1. VISIT
All prospective families are warmly invited to attend an open day or a family tour. This is an ideal opportunity to view our outstanding facilities, expansive outdoor grounds and to discuss how we can best support your child. Please note we will hold specific open days for the Junior School throughout the year.
2. APPLY
Applications are completed online and include your child’s most recent school report (where applicable), a photo and offer the opportunity for you to tell us a little more about your child and how they learn. There is a non-refundable application fee of £150 per child, and in the case of siblings, a separate application is needed for each child.
3. STAY AND PLAY VISIT
As a gently selective school, we invite all of our prospective children for an admissions visit. Pre-nursery and nursery children will be invited to a short ‘stay and play session’ to ensure that they will be happy and settled in our environment.
4. OUTCOME AND NEXT STEPS
We then contact families to discuss the outcomes for their child, session availability and next steps.
Families accepting an offer will be asked to complete and return the relevant paperwork alongside the acceptance deposit in order to secure the place for their child. Children are then invited in the summer term to join their new classmates for a settling in afternoon ahead of joining the school in September.
