Earlier this year we reported on pupil Jinny P competing in 5 karate competitions with the following results: English Karate championships (2 golds 1 silver), Ama International – Sheffield (u12 gold), Bask (u12 u15 u17 golds plus a £50 prize) and Toyakwa (3 golds).
As if this wasn’t impressive enough, two weeks ago Jinny competed at the 2022 GB Open with the following results:
· u12 silver medallist in a field of 25 competitors
· u14 silver medallist beating girls 2 years older than her and missing out on gold by 0.2 points
· u14 pairs champion
Despite tougher competition after jumping up an age group this year and going against older girls, she has still achieved amazing results.
She is a member of a small independent dojo based in New Malden which does not participate in world rankings until the children reach 14.
The plan is to compete further afield in Europe next year COVID permitting.
Well done Jinny! We can’t wait to see what you do next!
