In recent years the school has intentionally evolved. Academic results continue to advance because of both our prioritisation of teaching and learning, but also because greater demand has necessitated entrance test selection for the Junior and Senior Schools.
We have grown too because we believe in the advantage of being a genuinely balanced school, where a typical year has as many girls as boys, without having needed to reduce the number of places available for either gender.
In recent years we have completed the construction of the Sir Sydney Camm science and technology building, with eight purpose-built science labs, magnificent teaching rooms for textiles, food and nutrition, psychology, a design studio and a DT workshop. We have also completed a £4.6m refurbishment of Stable Court, home to our thriving Junior School for pupils in Year 3-6.
The perfect size
We have always committed to ensuring a year group feel more, not less, intimate as their size has increased by investing in smaller class sizes, additional subject choices and strong pastoral care. However, we also believe in enhancing those areas that are the heartbeat of any school – lunch, sport, music and drama.
The coming years will see a focus on creating a large, purpose built dining hall, an exciting new music school and enhanced drama facilities to include a theatre, as well as the introduction of an artificial sports pitch. Planning applications, currently with Elmbridge Council, aim to see the completion of these projects in the next five years. We benefit from being a large campus and we will always work to enhance our spaces whilst minimising any impact on learning, wellbeing and our historic grounds.
We’ll post about developments as and when they happen via our news section and on our social media channels across Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
Support us
The success of Claremont Fan Court School is built on the success of those who have gone before. This includes our alumni, and our current pupils as well as our founders who guided the school’s ethos to develop the whole child, recognising that each can do more than they think is possible.

Artificial sports pitch
Claremont Fan Court School is planning to build a multipurpose artificial sports pitch, the planning application is currently with Elmbridge Council. The multipurpose pitch guarantees the school is able to play sports in all weather conditions, throughout the year. Shared between the Senior and Prep School, the pitch will diversify the sports on offer to students. As with many other schools in the area, the artificial sports pitch expands the number of sports on offer.
More details of the final plan will be released in the coming months, if you wish to pledge early support for the project please download the form below to make a donation to the fund. The development team is currently planning the fundraising campaign for the pitch and would be delighted to hear from anyone considering supporting this project.
